Joseph, Oregon

WHEN: July 19th, 2008

WHERE: Joseph, Oregon

WHAT: Joseph is the gateway to Hells Canyon, Wallowa Lake State Park, The Eagle Cap Wilderness Area and more. We would like to make a few stops around the area that would give you some great views and photos of the mountains, Wallowa Lake and perhaps some wildlife (it is not uncommon for deer to eat out of your hand). An optional gondola ride up the steepest gondola in the United States (a 3700' vertical ascent up to summit of Mt. Howard) will also be an option for those interested. This should produce some fantastic vistas to photograph including a view of 4 states from one location!  A foundry, lots of bronze statues, boating, horseback riding, hang gliding & paragliding are all in the area for us to see and capture.

HOW: Please contact Lee Farrell for more information or to sign up. The club has rented a passenger van for this trip with room for 10 Members! So sit back relax and leave the driving to us, that way you can focus on the fun stuff! For those not interested in the van you are more than welcome to caravan up with us in your own vehicle at your own expense.

COST: We are asking $30 for anyone wishing to ride in the van. The Wallowa Lake Tramway is $22 for Adults, $18 for 12-17 yr olds, $14 for 4-11 year olds.

The Great Prosser Balloon Rally

WHEN: September 27th, 2008

WHERE: Prosser, WA

We would like to meet up in Richland  at a to-be-determined parking lot and caravan up for this trip.

WHAT: Prosser's annual balloon rally will offer lots of photo opportunities for our members that attend. The balloons take off just before sunrise from the Prosser airport and most pilots make it a point to skim the early morning water of the Yakima River before sailing off for a brief morning flight. There is also a Saturday evening "Night Glow" at the High School football stadium where the balloons are anchored and lined up for a show with music while they fire up the burners and light up the night with some wonderful and unique views of the balloons. Be sure to bring a tripod for this wonderful night time event if you go!

HOW: Please contact for more information or to sign up.

COST: No cost to TCDPC members for this sponsored event.
